This yarn is destined to be Knitty's Queen of Cups - MissHell is the greatest. Aw yeah!
And, the horribly horribly blue/brown acrylic socks are 4" into the leg. Whee! I am a sock fiend already, and I haven't even finshed a whole one!
*sigh* We're too broke for me to buy myself what I want for Mother's Day: some totally swank superwash merino midweight sock yarn in this gorgeous colorway!!! *sob* It would make these socks that I wanna make (even though I'm probably not good enough yet) look smashing!
OK. No more whining. Back to the hideous blue and brown acrylic socks.
I figured out how to knit the heel flap, turn the heel, pick gusset stitches and decrease into the sock foot... and frogged the whole damned thing. Coming soon: horribly pink acrylic socks reincarnated.
Then again, last year and the year before I did this: made grand plans to make gifts for people. 2005 saw laziness and a lack of vehicle impeding our goal. 2006 saw pregnancy, hormones and general bleh health to blame. This year, well... Alex is not fond of allowing me vast amounts of "me" time, but then, I didn't have a child thinking it would up my alone-time quotient, eh? :)
Okey dokey. A few more rounds, and it's heel flap time! Then a nap. Yes... blessed nap time.
