At least, not anymore ... I found the Tutorial over at knit picks with some awesome photos, and my funky looking purl wrap pick-ups are gone! Hooray! I'm too lazy to rip back and fix the belly pick-ups, so I'll just have to be a good girl from here forward.
Alas, I forgot to bring fiberfill to work today, so once I finish the top of my pooferfish, I'll have to wait until I get home to start grafting.
And now, back to my regularly scheduled lunch hour...
My comfy arrived! And within 10 minutes (no exaggeration) I had cast on for the pufferfish!
My short rows? They need some work :/ Still, I am loving the softness of this yarn!
Hopefully, I can get more of this little guy finished tonight, and maybe sew him up tomorrow. My goal is to complete him by Sunday; we shall see ¬.¬
(Photos after I go grab him out of the car and bring him in to the office after lunch)

The yarn is on its way finally! And, Hansi released her angler fish pattern... which I (naturally) purchased. So, getting here today or tomorrow are supplies for 1-2 pufferfish and either an octupus or a seahorse... I'm thinking seahorse. The next batch should come in lae this week or early next, which has the purple for the octopus (it matches the monkey's curtains) and some wool colors for at least two other creatures.
Can't wait for the pattern for the praying mantis to be released. I'm missing the cuttlefish, the starfish, the dumbo octopus and the snail other than that one, I believe.
I have stalled out (again) on mom's present ;__: I think it is because I already finished one Square Cake, and the ADHD in me says NEED SOMETHING NEWW!!!!!!!!
So, while I await the cotton for the sea creatures to arrive, I have some scrap WoolEase in just the right colors for some Hello Kitty inspired Stackable Cats!!! (Well, realistically, probably just one cat). And, this will be a far better first toy, I feel. Today, a cat. Tomorrow: a pufferfish?
Your Knit Picks order shipped 05/13/2008! Your package shipped Best Way and will arrive in 5-14 calendar days.

I can't WAIT! These are the yarns I ordered to make the Hansigurumi creatures that I just bought patterns for!! ^__^ (We try and stay wool-free whenever possible; allergies, oy!)
So, I caved: i purchased 3 HansiGurumi patterns today. I know, I know... I have the longest queue EVER and more UFOs than Area 51... but..but... there are SQUID!!!!
I also had to purchase some yarn, because, well, we have no family car so no trips to the yarn store after work for me! I got a few skeins of Comfy, since I'd been wanting to try it.
Patterns have been emailed to me - I can't wait to start them! First up: PufferFish!!!
Set? Wha? Yeah... I decided to add in a little make-up bag to "make up" for the lateness of the gift :D
Yet, there reaches a point of being broke where you say to yourself, I need $25,000; how is another $20 going to hurt me?
:: sigh :: Progress on the Square Cake for mom has stalled. BUT I got my replacement needles yesterday, so I have high hopes! Then I have to make one for my neighbor, and then my friend Les wants one in green... so I bought Shepard Sport in Envy (because the Marianne Dashwood? she is MINE).
I debated whether or not to get a sewing machine, as I'm looking into making hand bags for fun and profit... in the end, I got a hand held and figured that if I'm a good girl and make enough things where the hand held no longer cuts the mustard, then and only then can I justify buying a sewing machine... and having to clean up the spare bedroom to make space for my craftiness.
So, I've finished my Dashings for me - woohoo! They are a hit around the office; everyone wants a pair now. And speaking of everyone wants some: I have just received my very first ever knitting commission! An order for 3 pairs of fingerless gloves (pattern by .. me!!) has been placed. Cash moolah in the account forthcoming. I figured since it's through friends of my mom through her church, I placed the yarn order on good faith. I placed my very first order with KPixie. Hopefully, the yarn will come soon and I can whip out a few pairs of simple yet beautiful gloves. Yay for me for a commission!!
While I await yarn for the commission, I started my sister's present, and I like! Man, now I have to use that pattern for me. Also, I have to rip back my stepdad's present and cast on a new one, because Knucks? Too gappy for me to learn how to fiddle with on such a short deadline. And, being who I am, I can't give someone a half-assed present. So, new gift for Bruce it shall be.
And... I'm staring at this skein of yarn that I bought on a whim like 6 months ago. It started life as an attempt at a pair of Ampersand socks... but has since been frogged. The yarn is GORGEOUS! and begs to be crafted into something. But what? A pair of Fetchings? I feel like gloves are a good idea, but I don't believe in anything but fingerless mitts right now (time constraints). Maybe I can come up with some sort of fun and funky pattern of my own. I'm thinking ... maybe a modified Oblique Rib with an afterthought thumb? Hmm. I must needs stitch dictionaries now!!! Or, maybe a modified Fawkes? Afterthought or gusset? Decisions, decisions, decisions... maybe I should finish the stuff I'm already working on first, eh?
